At Seasons Dental, we are committed to making your wisdom teeth removal as comfortable and painless as possible. With our help, you won’t have to feel the pain or discomfort that usually accompanies erupted wisdom teeth.

WHY SHOULD I HAVE MY WISDOM TEETH REMOVED?

Don’t wait to have your impacted wisdom teeth removed. Waiting longer than necessary will only increase any pain you are experiencing.

Your wisdom teeth are the third set of molars on the top and bottom of your mouth, all the way at the back. Most people do not have room for these teeth in their mouth, so when they begin to erupt (come out of the gum) they make contact with the surrounding teeth in an often painful way.

Wisdom teeth that push against other teeth are called impacted wisdom teeth.

Removal of these teeth is usually the best option for most patients.

IS IT PAINFUL TO HAVE MY WISDOM TEETH REMOVED?

Prevention is the best way to avoid issues with wisdom teeth, as early removal gives the teeth less time to take root. The x-rays that come standard with your normal dental exam will give early warning of future problems. Your dentist will tell you well in advance whether you should have your wisdom teeth removed.

Anxiety over wisdom teeth removal is very common. If you feel any stress about it, don’t worry! You’re not alone. At Seasons Dental, we are up-to-date on the latest procedures and techniques for wisdom teeth removal. Our skilled staff and extraction team are dedicated to minimizing your pain both during the procedure and during the recovery afterward.

CARE AFTER REMOVAL

After your wisdom teeth have been extracted, you might experience tenderness and some bleeding. This is common after a dental procedure such as this. Gently rinsing out the back of your mouth with a saltwater mix is a good way to reduce swelling and to keep the area clean.

Avoid eating food that requires you to suck on straws and could loosen the blood clot for at least a few days after. We recommend sticking to soft foods as well.
